Personal Information
On this first page, Fiverr is going to ask you to add a profile picture, your language fluency, and to “Share a bit about your work experience, cool projects you’ve completed, and your area of expertise.”
Here’s where you want to give a blurb on what you’re great at. Don’t be shy. Brag. Share everything relevant (and accurate) that can help a client see you as an expert.
If you’re new to writing and you’re thinking, “I don’t have anything.” Don’t worry! You absolutely have something you can share. You’re a writer. Write!
Do you have a degree? Do you read consistently in certain areas? Here’s an example of what I’d write if I didn’t have any experience. (Feel free to use/modify this if you’d like!)
Professional Information
Okay, so here’s where we continue to sell ourselves to clients. We’ll fill in:
-
Occupation
-
Skills
-
Education
-
Certification
-
Personal Website
Occupation
In the occupation section, you want to be aspirational here. I’m certainly not telling you to be fraudulent. However, if you’re like me, you tend to undersell yourself. Don’t do that!
Even if you don’t have a ton of experience in an area, the only way to get experience is by completing jobs. Choose your five best skills and be confident!
Skills
Again, here’s a place to show what you can do. I suggest inputting the skills that you can select at least “Intermediate.” Obviously, put as many “Expert” skills in there as possible.
Education, Certification, and Personal Website
For these sections, just fill them in honestly. They won’t make or break your profile so don’t worry if you don’t have much to fill in for these!
“We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. ”
Linked Accounts
If you haven’t already, I highly recommend starting a Twitter account for your services. Use a picture of yourself and be generous with Following, Retweeting, and Liking others.
When you’re just starting out, comb through hashtags associated with what you’re doing. See what people are saying and get involved!
A robust presence will make you seem professional and will help you find new friends in the same boat as you. You’ll also find great articles and suggestions circulating among your peers. Learn from them!
If you’re selling short story writing services, follow writingcommunity, writerslift, amwriting, etc.
If you’re selling blogging services, search for: blog, blogging, blogeditor, etc.
Also, every week, I suggest sending out a link to your services. This will help new clients find you!

If you haven’t already, [opt in – subscriber incentive] use this pdf to analyze the top profiles on Fiverr as a way to gain insight into what should go into your profile.
Overview
Keep it short. I suggest looking at the top sellers in your niche and drawing inspiration from what they’ve written.
Pricing
Keep up the momentum! You’re almost done!
Here’s where it will be helpful to analyze some top sellers in your niche.
If you haven’t already, spend the next few minutes looking through some other seller profiles to see what type of language they use, pricing they use, and additional services they sell.
The side bar on Fiverr will also walk you through the process.
The extra services are nice for buyers to have. Some buyers are on a deadline and if you can help them by being the fastest turnaround time, then you might get jobs others would have.
I’d also consider adding in revisions. If you’re new like I was, I cared more about getting five star reviews than about churning out services.
Five star reviews will boost your rating and move you up on the website. So you may want to offer to revise anything a buyer doesn’t like (more information, another category, etc.).
This will also give buyers peace of mind, knowing you’re willing to get it right.
Description & FAQ
Here’s where all of your research pays off. Make sure you’re concise and clear. It took me a couple of tries, but if you start by getting everything out there on the form, it helps to see it and reorganize it.
Requirements
This turned out to be simpler than it sounded. I decided to list the questions I would want the answer to before starting a gig.
Check similar sellers’ questions. Feel free to use/modify the ones on the left or come up with your own!
Gallery
This is the place where profiles start to set themselves apart
I highly suggest using a picture of yourself as part of your profile. You may want to include a video explanation of your process, brand pictures, and/or slides which describe your services.
The more visual you can make it for potential buyers the better!
Publish
The last step before publishing is the English Skills Test. If you’re an English speaker, you will have no problem with this.
It consists mostly of verb tense questions and commonly used English phrases. As long as you have a solid grasp of the English language, this isn’t something to worry about.
NOTE: They will ask for your tax information should you exceed the monetary threshold. I applied and was approve in about 2 days
